At the 3rd edition of the Annual Scholarship and Bursary Award presentation held at Ikorodu Town Hall on August 31, 2024, the Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative Limited (IDPIL) announced a significant salary increment for its local task force outfit.
Otunba Ganiyu Olusegun Abiru, the Executive Secretary of IDPIL, made the announcement, stating that all members of the local security task force will receive a ₦10,000 pay rise in addition to their regular salaries.
The decision to increase the salaries comes in response to the recent increment of the minimum wage by the federal government of Nigeria.
Otunba Abiru emphasized that this initiative by IDPIL aims to align with the government’s efforts to improve the financial well-being of workers across the country.
He explained the importance of ensuring that those who contribute to the security and safety of Ikorodu Division are adequately compensated for their efforts.
“The pay rise is a reflection of our commitment to supporting the welfare of our security personnel. As the government has increased the minimum wage, it is only fitting that we follow suit to show our appreciation for the dedication and hard work of our task force,” Otunba Abiru remarked.
The announcement was met with applause from attendees, including beneficiaries of the scholarship and bursary awards, community leaders, and members of the local task force.
The Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative Limited has been at the forefront of community security and development, actively supporting local efforts to enhance safety and provide opportunities for residents.
“This move will further demonstrate IDPIL’s commitment to fostering a secure and prosperous community.”
“IDPIL is dedicated to continuous improvement and support for all its members and the broader Ikorodu community, with promises of more initiatives in the future to bolster security and development in the region,” Otunba Abiru added.
