Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative (IDPIL) Flagged-off its third Anniversary celebration in grand style by visiting the Immigration Office in Igbogbo and making a significant donation.
The presentation event, held on June 5, 2024, was led by IDPIL’s Chairman Odofin Adewunmi Ogunsanya SAN, marking its milestone through a generous gesture.
IDPIL donated a heavy duty standard 40KVA Generator and three Unit Air Conditioner System to the Immigration Office, enhancing the working conditions for the officials.
The donation was met with excitement and gratitude from the Immigration Service staffs, who acknowledged the significant improvement the items would bring to their operations.
The Chairman of the Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative (IDPIL), Odofin Adewunmi Ogunsanya SAN, before the presentation, emphasized the importance of the Immigration Office in Igbogbo to the entire Ikorodu division.
Ogunsanya said that the Immigration Office, which serves the entire Ikorodu division, has quickly garnered positive commendations for its effective operations since its establishment less than a year ago.
He noted that the donation of a standard Generator and three Unit Air conditioner system from IDPIL depicts a show of appreciation from the entire region towards their services.
Ogunsanya also pledged to further support the Immigration Office by providing photocopy printing machines.
He encouraged the office to reach out to IDPIL for any further assistance needed in the future, reinforcing the organisation’s commitment to supporting local institutions.
Filled with joy, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, expressed deep appreciation to the Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative (IDPIL) for their generous donation to the Immigration Office in Igbogbo.
Oba Kasali described the donation as a commendable gesture that will add substantial value to the work of the immigration services.
“This donation is a good course that will enhance the work tendencies of the immigration services,” said the monarch, explaining the positive impact on the services provided to the entire Ikorodu division.
Calling for continuous support, Oba Kasali encouraged IDPIL to continue their generous gesture, emphasizing that the immigration service will need more assistance to fully enhance their functions.
Hon. Nuraini Okedina-Maja, Vice chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, also expressed appreciation to IDPIL on behalf of the Executive chairman, Bldr Sesan Daini, citing the value added to the immigration service through the donations.
Otunba Ayodele Elesho, Chairman of the IDPIL Committee on Media/Publicity noted that the Igbogbo Passport Office has been performing exceptionally well since its inception, making it deserving of community support.
“The Igbogbo Passport Office has in its functions met all expectations, and so they deserve to be supported. IDPIL felt they needed to be supported, which is why we have done this today,” Elesho stated.
He later stated that the Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative will continue to support the Passport Office to ensure their consistency in providing maximum service to the people of Ikorodu division.
Otunba Ganiyu Olusegun Abiru, the Executive Secretary of the IDPIL praised the Immigration Service as one of the most efficiently functioning government parastatals.
He emphasized that the support program was not only a part of the anniversary celebrations but also a deliberate effort to acknowledge and bolster the services provided by the Immigration Office.
“The Immigration Service is one of the government parastatals that is functioning very well,” stated Otunba Abiru.
“Today’s support program is not only to flag off our 3rd anniversary celebration, but also to identify with the Immigration services, ascertaining that the office has to do with security, which is part of our priority.”
Passport Control Officer Yakubu Abidemi, receiving the donated items onbehalf of Mr. Muyiwa Odunubi, the Deputy Controller of Immigration Service in Igbogbo expressed appreciation for the donations, noting the positive impact on their daily operations.
“The addition of the generator and air conditioners will ensure a more comfortable and efficient working environment, ultimately benefiting the community we serve” Abidemi said.
